Natural Skin Therapies That Support Your Skin Health
How many times have you gotten out of bed, walked to the mirror, touched your face and thought “I don’t look as good as I want to?”, or “my gosh, I look really tired!”. Most of us consider the face to be the most distinctive feature of our body, but eventually the years go by and the tell-tale signs of aging appear, such as wrinkles, age spots, stretch marks and more.
Most people think of wrinkles as the primary sign of aging, but the process is far more complex. Aging affects the entire facial structure including the skin, muscles, and facial bones. While there are individuals who choose to accept aging as a part of life, many people opt for cosmetic surgery as an alternative. They approach cosmetic surgeons or dermatologists to help them restore their youth. Cosmetic procedures, known as facial rejuvenation treatments can help you regain your youthful appearance.
There is a wide range of treatments available for facial rejuvenation, and there are significant benefits to all. Some of the procedures involve surgery, like facelifts and Derma Abrasion, but an increasing number of minimally invasive procedures have emerged. Non-surgical facial rejuvenation does not require any incisions, and the patients barely endure any downtime. From the Kim Kardashian “Vampire Facial” (coined by the clinic who did it first), to microneedling, collagen induction therapy and platelet-rich plasma, there are now many non-surgical facial techniques available.
We’re big advocates for the fact that the health of your insides reflects the health of your skin, but we also focus on those skin specific treatments. Our medical team at Cornerstone Naturopathic uses microneedling, hyaluronic acid injections and more, to stimulate the dermal layer of your skin to boost collagen growth, reduce inflammation, correct scarring and even out skin tone. Microneedling has also been shown to be preventative against certain types of precancerous skin lesions caused by UV skin damage, help reduce the severity of acne scarring and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
If you have a lot of scarring, deep wrinkles or want to significantly improve your skin elasticity and radiance we use microneedling and collagen induction techniques to stimulate collagen growth and support tissue healing.
At Cornerstone Naturopathic we believe that you should look and feel as healthy as you possibly can. That’s why we focus on your internal, and external, features. Because both are important.
How do I know what my skin needs?
We use the Observ 520, an unique camera with 520 degrees of photography, to understand and see the quality of your skin. Using UV light, this camera helps you and our medical team determine how we would be able to get you to your optimal skin health. We know pictures of your skin sound scary, but we believe in treating you as an individual. That’s how we get the results we’re known for. The Cornerstone Naturopathic approach is to focus on you and your unique needs; we don’t treat you like a number.
We also believe that knowledge is power. We offer our skin consultations as a complimentary service because we want you to be empowered with your health. Feel free to book an appointment online with our medical team for your complimentary skin consultation. You’ll leave with photos like the ones below, a breakdown of the oxidation of your skin and some product recommendations to better your skin. It’s one of the ways we believe in giving back – and while you’re at the clinic, have a cup of tea and relax.
