Adam Blackwood
Registered Massage Therapist (RMT)
Osteopathic Practitioner (candidate)
Adam’s journey into manual therapy began when he enrolled in the Massage Therapy program at the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy in Halifax, graduating with honors in 2016. His professional career as a Massage Therapist focuses on promoting health and rehabilitation.
However, a pivotal moment in Adam’s life occurred earlier, at the age of 19, when he suffered a severe back injury after a fall down a flight of stairs. Despite the assistance of numerous doctors and medications, he found himself reliant on a cane for mobility. It was during this challenging time that someone recommended he see an Osteopath.
Adam’s experience with Osteopathy proved transformative. His ability to regain mobility and reduce pain fascinated him, motivating him to explore manual therapy further.
To deepen his knowledge, Adam pursued a five-year Osteopathy program at the College D’Études Ostéopathiques. This comprehensive program delves into the visceral, musculoskeletal, and craniosacral systems, with a focus on uncovering the root causes of pain. Adam is set to graduate in 2024, armed with extensive expertise.
Over the past five years, Adam has honed a therapeutic approach to treatment, skillfully blending various techniques into his massage practice. He specializes in helping patients manage acute pain and addresses chronic conditions, including migraines, digestive problems, repetitive use injuries, and postural issues.
Adam maintains a membership in good standing with the Massage Therapists and Wholistic Practitioners Association of the Maritimes. His dedication to facilitating wellness and his unwavering pursuit of knowledge make him a valuable asset in the field of manual therapy.
