IV Vitamin C
IV Vitamin C
Intravenous Vitamin C is the administration of Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C) into the system through a vein. This allows us to achieve a concentration of Vitamin C in the blood, which is unobtainable through conventional oral ingestion. Vitamin C has been found to be extremely safe and the risk of side effects is low.
IV Vitamin C has many benefits, and Cornerstone’s Halifax-Tantallon practice harnesses those benefits to address the following conditions:
- Intravenous administration of vitamin C to patients who were diagnosed with breast cancer and were undergoing chemo and radiation had few side effects and increased quality of life.
- Intravenous administration of vitamin C to patients who had an incurable cancer were found to have a higher quality of life both mentally and physically.
- Patients suffering from multiple allergies who receive intravenous vitamin C report increased quality of life due to decreased symptoms. Vitamin C is a simple and effective treatment to eliminate allergy symptoms, however it does not eliminate the allergy itself. Vitamin C is effective in decreasing allergy symptoms due to its effect on histamine. You can read the research study abstract here.
- Lowered histamine levels ultimately decrease allergy symptoms like itchy eyes, runny nose, sneezing, and more. Based on the severity of the symptoms, patients may receive infusions weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly. After multiple treatments, many patients find they enjoy an extended tenure of comfort before their symptoms re-emerge.
